Not sure if art impacts its surroundings? SW!PE, a new publication created by the guards at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, might change your mind. The magazine, which debuted at the beginning of March according to its web site, features artwork such as poetry and expert sketches, from 35 present and former guards, many of whom are aspiring artists themselves. The publication’s title comes from the idea of swiping a time card, and its first 110-page volume was entitled “Guards Matter,” available for $19.95 plus shipping and handling from the web site.
