The NCAA Tournament of Average Salaries

payscale's ncaa salary madness

by Andrew Hanelly on March 26, 2010

It’s hard not to stop and pay attention when someone gets it right, and that’s exactly what PayScale did with their Salary Madness effort.

Playing in to the mass appeal of the NCAA College Basketball Tournament (and a little bit of alma mater bragging rights) PayScale modeled what the tournament results would be if the match-ups were decided on which university’s graduates have the highest average income. And along the way, earned a lot of marketing.

Will it convert to more business for PayScale? Only time will tell, but at the very least more people are aware of their brand. Myself included.

(Incidentally, only 3 teams in the Salary Sixteen actually made it to the Sweet Sixteen.)
