The Greatest Lead Generation Trick in the History of Humanity

lead generation tip

It has nothing to do with conversion rates, A/B split testing, contact form optimization, or downloadable white papers.

You won’t find the answer in cold-calling, renting lists, or collecting names in a fish bowl. Even the best webinar in the world is not the solution.

The trick, in fact, isn’t even a trick at all.

But it can be tricky.

Love your customer.

Treat them better than you treat yourself. Surprise them with how much you care. Obsess over their details. Do amazing work for them. Overdeliver on your promises.

Blow them away.

If you do this, you won’t need to listen to most tips on lead generation (though it won’t hurt to try them out), and tune out the gurus. You won’t need to fuss with your contact form. You probably won’t even need a website.

Because you’ve got evangelists speaking on your behalf.

But what happens when they want to keep you a secret?

@bill: Point taken. But I just didn’t think “Love Your Customers” had the same ring. Then again, I’m not very good at this. Thanks for dropping by!

@Elmo: You raise a great point. If you’re lucky enough to have the problem of your clients wanting to keep you a secret, you’re in a good position. But eventually, the work will speak for itself, much to the chagrin of your secretive clients, and word will eventually get out that you’re behind it.

Clever. Obvious. Impossible.
